My native language is Mandarin Chinese, and I was born in China. I have been in the U.S. since 2000, when my husband and I arrived to pursue our educations. I attended the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, where I received a master's degree in Nutritional Science. Both of my daughters were born in the U.S. and I have been working to teach them the Chinese culture and language. I began teaching Chinese at a local city Chinese School five years ago. I have a passion for sharing my culture and language with the younger generation. I believe that when a person knows more about the culture, the language becomes more useful and interesting. I am willing to work with students with a variety of goals in the language and I am able to develop different lessons to meet their goals. I am also able to work with a variety of techniques to fit every student's needs. I take a step by step approach to teaching and work with my students to develop listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills. Some of the tools that I utilize in my tutoring sessions are books, PowerPoints, videos, and songs. I look forward to our fun educational journey.
