Experience

I have nearly twenty years teaching experience and a master's in education. I've taught ESL to all ages and all levels. I LOVE grammar, so I enjoy proofreading/editing essays. My experience teaching ESL has taught me to explain concepts as simply as possible. American students struggling with their composition classes or grammar classes will benefit from having such a teacher. While teaching in South Korea, I taught students as young as 5 and as old as sixties. Since coming back to Oklahoma, I've mainly taught young adults (~17-~28).

Hobbies

I'm into yoga, gardening, and reading. I became certified to teach yoga in 2009. I currently practice (but do not teach) yoga at YouPower Yoga in Edmond. With a small front and back yard, it did not take me long to transform them both into gardens where I grow flowers and organic food. I read for enjoyment on a daily basis and have since I was a young child. (Depriving me of books and trips to the library was the worst punishment ever inflicted upon me in my childhood.) I taught in local language schools for six years and had extremely diverse populations coming from equally diverse educational backgrounds. I love to create material specific to my students' needs. I've been a homestay host for Saudi students for almost five years now.
